Quote:
"Yes, young people sometimes accidentally slip a btw (by the way) into a school essay. But a recent study by the Pew Internet and American Life Project confirms that middle school and high school students understand what kind of language is appropriate in what context (Lenhart, Smith, & Macgill, 2008)" (Baron, 2009)
Reaction:
If I were to tell you I do not abbreviate on a text you could definitely call me a liar. Growing up with a cell phone since I was twelve years old kind of puts a damper on the way I have a conversation over a cell phone. Even knowing I might put "lol" or "wtf" in a text, when writing a paper I know better not to put abbreviated words such as the ones i mentioned above. The older generation needs to learn that the "younger" generation and ALOT more generations to come, are going to have a very technological lifestyle. And as time precedes it won't do anything but get more technological.
