Reaction:
As much as the Professors/Teachers believe they are teaching a curriculum that has been created by the state to successfully teach us to the cognitive skills to become "anything we want in the world": What is reading a 300 page novel in high school English class doing for me other than making me tired and my eyes hurt? Maybe if that novel was on a iPad where i could digitally look at the book and flip through with a touch of your finger swiping across the screen. Now doesn't that seem like it would not only be more engaging to the students but would also substantially enhance their knowledge electronically? By learning how to operate one of our generation most enhanced piece of technology, to read a book is already engaging you for life in the future.

ReplyDeleteJustin, I can't agree with this more. It's not necessarily that the curriculum itself needs to be updated as much as the medium that it is delivered. As this happens, and teachers become more comfortable with delivering the message this way, more modern, up-to-date subjects can be added.
